The City of Chico would like to remind those in our neighboring communities who may have been ordered to evacuate and are currently seeking lodging in hotels, motels, or other temporary housing options that Ordinance Number 2522 prohibiting price gouging remains in effect. The ordinance prohibits charging a price that exceeds by more than ten percent the price of rental units, goods or services as such existed before the declaration of an emergency event. This applies to hotels, motels, or other short-term or long-term rentals.
To report any suspected price gouging, please contact the Butte County District Attorney at 1-866-DA-FRAUD (1-866-323-7283). For more information on this ordinance, including a draft of the ordinance itself, please visit the City of Chico’s webpage at https://chico.ca.us/price-gouging-ordinance

Offering connections of donations of motorhomes, RVs, and trailers with families impacted by recent wildfires/natural disasters who are in need of shelter. Families will be contacted by volunteers if an RV is available in their area. Please note: completing the intake form is not a guarantee that families will be connected with an RV. Please submit only one application per household.
To be considered eligible: households must have lost their home due to a natural disaster (wildfire, hurricane, tornado, flood, earthquake, etc). Once matched with a donated RV, households must provide proof of residency of the home that was destroyed. Preferably a copy of their FEMA letter, but a utility bill or license/ID with their address is acceptable. A photocopy of a license and proof of a legal place to park the RV from a property owner will be required before EmergencyRV will deliver an RV.
Please Note: Households should wait to secure a place to park if and after they are contacted by EmergencyRV as there are no guarantees that they will be matched with an RV. Please fill out and submit the Survivor Intake Form found here, https://bit.ly/2ZXlvYi
Please note: We encourage those in need of Motorhome/RV Lodging to reach out directly to the park(s) individually before traveling there in person. Space availability changes often, typically daily. Please also note that those seeking parking/camping space at the parks below will be subject to park/campsite fees unless otherwise noted.
